Harvey Arkawy, AA, ARL, CAI, CL-SS
Harvey Arkawy has been a Locksmith for more than 45 years. He owned his own successful Locksmith business in the San Fernando Valley, California for 9 years.
He had been a member of ALOA in the late 70's as well as The California Locksmiths Association; San Fernando Valley Chapter. While a CLA member, he served as a State Executive Council member. He served as Chapter Vice-President for a year and then was elected President for one term. Harvey recently received his Certified Instructor's Certificate from ALOA. He is currently the Administrative Director of the Society of Professional Locksmiths and the Security Technical Institute.
After selling his business in 1985, he went to work as an Industrial Locksmith for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics . During his tenure, he continued expanding his horizons and education within the Locksmith and Safe industry, by taking classes from Lockmasters as well as Mark Bates and Associates (MBA); both organizations located in Nicholasville, KY.
Harvey specialized in Master Keying as well as Electronic Access. He received numerous Awards of Achievement from his management for "Outstanding Performance for creating methods and procedures to drastically reduce eighty (80) man hours needed to provide building and door access to thousands of employees and contractors down to an hour and a half (1.5)." He received his Federal GSA Inspector's Certificate in 1994 from MBA.
He has been writing and selling Locksmith software since 1980 and has been teaching Master Keying since 1994. The organizations that he has taught for are: Progressive Trade Show Management Services of Corona, Calif., The California Locksmith’s Association, American Security Distribution of Southern Calif (no longer in business.) He retired from Lockheed in January 2006. Harvey continues to give back to the industry by teaching Master Keying, currently via the Internet through The Society of Professional Locksmiths, as well as Clark Security Products, San Diego, InterMountain Lock & Security, Burbank and The Yankee Security Locksmiths Association.
